Good Filling. Needs Pizazz.

I like the idea of showing the audience the HP of the characters in a battle to the death, and I love the idea of a Dual Tech that would have kicked butt in Chrono Trigger. Still, there are two problems with the presentation, both of them visual. First, while I like to see the entire field of battle, it makes the whole piece seems static. A more cinematic approach with close-ups would have added some zip. Second...the sprites' proportions are messed up. The pixel art for the different series clashes when combined. Still, I like the crowd reactions and all the details put into this feature.

Great!

I played Final Fantasy X-2 for about two hours and hated it with a passion, so I thought I would hate this. I was wrong. This is a pretty effective way of spoofing bad Flash submissions without condemning them directly. This also has top-notch production values. Bonus points for actually making it seem like a FFX-2 battle.

This is was pretty hilarious. Actually this is better than the other Ang Lee film that I won't mention the name of but should have been better than what it was.

Well presented...technically deficient,,,

I have to say I like your cinematic vision. You directed this short piece very well, although I would have preferred just a little more in terms of story. The music was nice, but the piece didn't seem to flow with the music or vice versa. The background graphics were awesome, better than even most of the top quality flash movies. But the character models and animation really stop this from being any better.

Sometimes the best of pieces aren't the best produced, but the ones made with heart and soul. This was made with heart and soul! As a Steelers fan, I am happy to see this Flash. Great work! Great work!

It's original...but it's not Flash!

I have no proplem with people incorporating video into their Flash efforts, but when I see an entry in Newgrounds, I expect to see some evidence that there was some work done in Flash to create or amplify the product. That doesn't necessarily mean making a Flash cartoon, but importing video and audio into a timeline and adding a play button does not constitute as a Flash entry. A good video file? Yes. Flash? no.

Good...just not great

I like the style in this piece and the fact that there is an actual sense of direction and good writing. Indeed, if it weren't for the quality of the visuals and the substandard sound quality, this would easily earn a nine or a ten. But while there's substance and style, the technical components bring it down. Last of all, please cut off the music at the end of the Flash file. Still, this is good work. Now do better!

Thanks for the meaningful review. And I totally agree. If I could make myself not be lazy and do some work. I could proably make a very well drawn flash. As for sound. I have a limited source and even more limited understanding on how to control it.

It's actually good...for an incomplete movie.

Believe it or not, visually this is one of the better sprite Flash movies around here, and the sound is good. The problem is that this piece is too short and is incomplete. Believe me, if it were a little longer or with more of a story, I would give it a higher score. But I can't ethically give something that needs more work a higher score.

The visuals were nice but the humor didn't come through in all the shorts and the sound was a little poor in quality. Not great, not horrible. Averahe.

Absolutely fantastic!

I've always had a soft spot fror Zarbon and your take on Nappa is the funniest and most original I've seen. This is an outstanding piece both technically and an in execution. How were you able to compress something so long to make it fit under the limit? Brautiful graphics. Wonderful delivery of lines, and a great way of poking fun at DBZ.

Shenlong's "Geico" comment was pricelss.
